A-maze-ing Laughter, Vancouver

A-maze-ing Laughter was created by Chinese artist Yue Minjun in 2009. Located in Morton Park (Davie St & Denman St). Each of the 14 patinated cast-bronze figures is 102 inches tall and weighs 250 kg (552 lbs). A-maze-ing Laughter was nominated in the Great Places in Canada Contest 2013. It was the only work of public art to receive a nomination in the country.

Chinese artist Yue Minjun poses in front of one of his paintings displayed in an exhibition of his work at the Fondation Cartier building in Paris. The painting shown is entitled L'ombre d'un fou rire (The shadow of a laugh).
