The monkey rescued by Steve and Carroll in the first episode is taken in for medical attention. After sedating him they find evidence of old wounds, a pellet in his leg as well as a broken bone. This can be a serious disadvantage when their daily routine is dodging traffic, dogs and foraging for food. An x ray reveals a very empty stomach and another a serious medical issue that is slowly killing him and many other monkeys in the city.

Graeme, one of our cameramen, got the unique opportunity to film a humpback whale unreasonably close after ascending from a dive. The whale was acting oddly standing on its head with its tail near the surface, singing a whale song. Graeme decides to get in close to the tail and has he does he almost gets smacked in the head with it. Getting hit by a whale like this would be like getting hit by a bus. Fortunately Graeme is unharmed and captures some amazing footage.
