Our urban garden

We love to garden! There is nothing better than to reep the rewards of playing in the dirt whether it be food, the beauty of of the landscape, the smell of flowers or enjoying the visitors to our gardens. Were lucky enough to purchase a home in the city in 2008 that offered us a nearly 1/3 acre lot with Southwestern exposure. It has been a continuously evolving landscape ever since. we share our successes & failures in gardening as well as the lessons we have learned in between.

Our boys enjoying the sun in the yard. Our yard has a small level area with a slope to the lower more level main yard with gives us over 1/3 of an acre in the city with Southwestern exposure. We have created pathways & flower garden on the slope so as not to have to mow & attracts hummingbirds, birds, bees & butterflies.

An occupied nest that I found while trimming a shrub. Needless to say, I stopped the trimming until they fledged.
