VICTORIA, BC - Photo postcard showing the stern of the C.P.R. "Princess Sophia", with "Princess Maquinna" to the right, docked at the C.P.R. terminal in Victoria. Was launched in 1911 and sunk at Vanderbilt Reef in 1918 with the loss of all on board, making it the worst maritime accident on the coast. The only survivor was a dog that managed to swim to shore and was found covered in oil.
