This is a neighbourhood in St. John’s, Newfoundland called ‘The Battery’. It’s a community of solid, salt of the earth folk who’ve built their homes right into the cliff face. More than one window that I peered into had a boulder in the livingroom.

With a long maritime history, the largest offshore island of Newfoundland and Labrador is a gentle world of bright-colored clapboard houses, sea-cliff footpaths, lush forest, and warm hospitality set against a striking coastline.

Newfoundland - I have only visited a couple times and have loved it. I dream to be able to spend much more time exploring 'the Rock.'

Cloudberries - native to Scandinavia and other arctic regions - popular in Norwegian and Swedish deserts. Ohmygosh, more fun fruit for me to try!
