Alternative for timeout. Mind Jar.  It is really easy to make.  The goal is that when they are feeling out of control, they shake the jar, then sit and watch the glitter settle in the water. When the glitter settles, we finish our meditation. This one is a really great technique to use in lieu of timeout.

Students find their new group by finding the puzzle pieces that fit together. (You could use this idea on the first day of school as well as throughout the year... anytime you're changing teams.)

I like my whole group clip chart, but I wonder if this would help a kid who is really struggling with behavior, to have his/her own. Or maybe a black and white copy of it that they can color in where they are at.
