Don't fence me in
At Tilting, a friendly Newfoundland pony came right up to the fence to say hello. These hardy little horses, now recognized as a Heritage Breed, are descended from the moorland ponies of Britain. They were perfectly suited to the often harsh climate of Newfoundland, where they were used for farming and hauling wood, as well as transportation. There are now fewer than 400 of these animals to be found, although there is a breeding program in place to preserve the breed. Check out this…
