Bronze statue of Timothy Eaton was produced in 1919 to commemorate the anniversary of the original store that opened in Toronto in It now calls the Royal Ontario Museum home. It is the only item on display at the ROM that visitors are incur to touch.
During its 80 years presence at Eaton's the statue became a landmark for people to meet at when visiting downtown. A superstition developed that rubbing the toe of Eaton's left foot would bring you good luck. Everytime I entered the store!
