hello sunshine

I have a fun card to share today. I created this card back in June! Honestly, I don't know what took me so long to share it on my blog. It is one of my personal favorite cards that I created this summer. I love the colors and papers. This adorable image is Heidi and Mattie from High Hopes. I read on the High Hopes site that they are discontinuing many of their older stamps. This makes me so sad. They have always been one of my favorite companies for adorable images. But I refuse to get rid…

I know I use the adjective "cute" a lot when I'm describing High Hopes stamps, but they just are! So, how about a cute hippo card today? *wink* As soon as I saw this hippo, it became one of my. I want a hippopotamus for Christmas!

I know I use the adjective "cute" a lot when I'm describing High Hopes stamps, but they just are! So, how about a cute hippo card today? *wink* As soon as I saw this hippo, it became one of my favorite stamps from the new release. But I have a confession, I had never heard of the song "I want a hippopotamus for Christmas" before I saw the release stamps. Crissy enlightened me and sent a link to the song. It was recorded in '54 by Gayla Peavey, who was ten years old at the time You can listen…

Christmas in July

I finally got the chance to sit down and stamp this morning. I decided to play along in today's sketch challenge on SCS and to create a card for this week's High Hopes challenge since I hadn't had a chance to play along yet. This week's High Hopes challenge is to Christmas in July. This month's release has lots of adorable holiday themed stamps. I chose Three Pane Christmas as my image. My patterned papers are from Basic Grey's Wassail and Figgy Pudding lines and the cardstock is ripe…

Be My Valenswine!

It's been way too long since I played with my High Hopes images! I've missed them! They are still some of my all time favorite cute images. I pulled out this cute little piggie, Cupig, last week to play with. Isn't he adorable?! (Lacey has him in stock in her store, Stamp and Create, if you're looking for him.) I paired him with some patterned papers from the Blush line from Basic Grey and colored him with copic markers that coordinated with my colors. After coloring him, I masked him and…

This week's spotlight product over at Stamp and Create is Buttons, Brads, and Bling (so they are 25% off this week in the store). Check out the Stamp and Create blog for more info on the spotlight products this week. I had to pull out this adorable Willy One Eye for my card since I hadn't had a chance to use him yet. Isn't he hilarious?! Perfect for little boy cards! I paired him with some Just Dreamy 2 patterned papers from My Mind's Eye and dark chocolate cardstock. Then, I colored him…

Best Day Ever

I am guest designing with High Hopes stamps for the next three months. I had the opportunity to design for them in the past so I'm excited to catch up with everyone and, of course, the images are so cute! Every other Tuesday, there is a challenge over on the High Hopes blog. This week's challenge is Stars and Stripes (use stars and/or stripes on your card). I used this adorable image called Time Well Spent. I used some patterned papers from the Campfire paper pad from October Afternoon. I…

Get Well Soon

For the next two weeks, the product spotlight over at Stamp and Create is an Easter Sale. So any stamps that are Easter-ish in nature will be 25% off (including the Stampavie Easter Parade image on the card I posted this past weekend). You can find more info on the Stamp and Create blog. But not all the stamps have to be used for Easter so it's the perfect time to pick up some cuties! I used the adorable Bunny Blooms image from High Hopes to create a get well card instead of an Easter or…

Dress for Success

I'm back with another sneak peek of a new release stamp (releasing this Saturday night) from High Hopes. I think this little girl is so cute and I can definitely see my daughter doing the same thing! *wink* I drew the color inspiration from the patterned paper (Sultry by Basic Grey). I added ivory Flower Soft to the boa. I love how it turned out! It looks all nice and fluffy like a really boa! I also added rhinestones to the centers of the buttons and dimensional glaze to the pearl necklace…

may your day overflow with fun!

Happy Wednesday, everyone! My son had his last day of school yesterday. It's hard to believe he is out for summer vacation and I will have a first grader when school starts up again. Where does the time go?! It's also a little less than 3 weeks until our newest little one is due. We didn't find out if the baby is a boy or a girl so we are all very curious to find out when he or she gets here! Today, I thought I would share a card I created a while back using the adorable Bubble Bath Bradley…

Happy Bear-Day!

It's time for another High Hopes challenge. The new challenge is Anything Goes. (So there's no excuse not to play along!) I pulled out the adorable Standing Birthday Buddy image along with the Happy Bear-Day sentiment for my card. I stamped the image on copic x-press it cardstock with tuxedo black memento ink and die cut it with an oval nestability die. I used some patterned paper from Echo Park's Sweet Summertime line. I colored the image with these copic markers: R20, R21, R22, R24, E31…

Picnic Time

It's time for the Sunday High Hopes challenge! This week, Lacey is challenging us to use stars or stripes on our cards. Thanks for the fun challenge, Lacey! I pulled out Ants Picnic from the last High Hopes release. (You know these cute little ants are some of my favorites!) I paired my image with some patterned papers from my stash and some blue bayou cardstock and ribbon. I'm not really sure who makes the paper. I think it is some retired Wild Asparagus from My Mind's Eye. I doodled the…

Hogs-n-Kisses

I'm back again with another of those cute piggies from High Hopes. (I used the Large Pickles Balloon Ride, but Lacey has the Small Pickles Balloon Ride available in her store.) I created this card last weekend when I had a chance to sit down and play with some images I haven't used in quite a while. Anyway, I used some patterned papers from Basic Grey and colored my image in coordinating colors using copic markers. Lots of stitching and some red buttons finish off my card. Here are the copic…

Time to Relax

It time for another challenge over on the High Hopes blog. The new challenge is Fun in the Sun. This challenge was perfect for me. I inked up a couple of stamps that I just got from High Hopes: Beach Girl Patti and Fillable Beach Scene. I stamped Beach Girl Patti on copic x-press it cardstock with tuxedo black memento ink and again on Eclipse Masking Tape. I cut out my mask and put it over my image. Then, I stamped the Fillable Beach Scene over my image. I used some patterned papers from…

Winter fun

I am so excited because I get to share some sneak peeks of the new High Hopes release! (New stamps will be available for sale Saturday night or Sunday morning.) Oh my goodness, there are so many adorable new stamps! Just wait until you see them all! One of the themes for this release is Christmas in July. I had to ink up this adorable bear as one of my first images. Isn't he so cute!?! I chose some Be Merry patterned papers from My Mind's Eye along with some hibiscus burst and dark chocolate…

Here's the Dirt

This week's High Hopes challenge is Use Up Your Scraps from Jeanne. Oh, fun challenge! We all have lots of those! I decided to create my husband's Father's Day card for this challenge. I paired this cute Gordon Groundhog with some Basic Grey Archaic patterned paper scraps. I colored the image with coordinating copic markers and stitched my layers. Then, I sponged all the edges with dark chocolate ink to dirty them up. I snapped a quick photo of the copic markers I used. Join us in the…

make a wish

Just a quick post tonight. I have to get ready for our Mother's Day outing tomorrow. We always go out for a drive, look for mushrooms, and have a picnic on Mother's Day. This will be the 5th year of our tradition and I love it. It's so nice to get away from everything and just spend time as a family. I do have a card to share really quick. This week's High Hopes challenge is to create a masculine card. I decided to use this adorable dragon stamp called Warm Wishes. I love the High Hopes…
