Machine made. Canadian red ensign and British flag crossed in center. Centre has a blue maple leaf that reads D.I.L. Ajax, ON. Defense Industries Limited (DIL) opened in 1941. It was a shell filling factory providing munitions for WW2.

Patchwork quilt sewn together with various colored wool. Feather stitch. Colors, shapes and sizes of patches vary. Burgundy backing. 27 names of local residents are embroidered on the front.

Log Cabin Design
Variation on a log cabin quilt (straight furrow). This quilt was started by Fannie Beare before she was married to George Gares and finished after they were married and moved to their home in Cherrywood 1885. They were married February 25th 1885.
