"Painted Snails, Cuban Land Snails, Polymita picta" - Who started post-modern art, God or man?

Snail Sitting on a Red Mushroom- making mushrooms out of clay or something and painting as a garden decoration or veggie marker would be cute
The colors and the textures in this shell close-up are really wonderful. The spiral shape leans grace and form; it amazes me that things seemingly so fragile tumbled around in a powerfull sea can survive. Painting is brewing in my mind!
I'm not a fan of octopus or squid but I can't deny the beauty in the pattern and what I can only assume to think is an interesting texture. The repetitive geometric design is so cool nature!
