Why Award-winning Writer Kim Thuy Always Has Time for Another Refugee

On June 8, 1972 Ut took the iconic photograph of Kim Phuc running down a road after being burned in a napalm bomb attack near Trang Bang. Burnett was also there and Wain poured water over Kim Phuc's burns and took her to a hospital. Kretz accompanied Kim Phuc to Germany for her final surgery to treat her burns.
