During WWII nylon stockings were difficult to get wartime used many of our daily resources - so women drew eyebrow pencil lines up each other's legs to give the impression of "sheer" silk stockings.

Mom use to wear these nylons.I especially liked the black seam up the back.Momma was a baby nurse and her white nylons had the seam up the back also.then Nurses started wearing pants.
