Bernard Palissy, plat ovale en céramique-  A partir de din 1566, il travaille à la réalisation d'une "grotte rustique" à Paris, d'abord pour le Connétable, puis pour Catherine de Médicis, aux Tuileries. 2 de ses fils l'aident dans cette oeuvre. En 1572, protégé par Catherine de Médicis, il ne survit à la St-Barthélémy qu'en se réfugiant à Sedan.
