For today& Transformation Tuesday, we wanted to share this project by Beth of Farm Fresh Vintage Finds. She transformed this dining room set with our popular General Finishes Oil Base Gel Wood Stains in Java.

Using General Finishes Java Gel Stain and Satin Gel Topcoat, I turned this back-alley (literally, I found it in a back alley) beat up piece of furniture into a beautiful coffee table! Three coats of stain, two coats of urethane. Allow it to dry 24 hours between each coat. Make sure to wipe off extra urethane with a rag. And get this... My favorite project completed to date! My dining room table is pine and originally had a light stain and beeswax finish. I stripped and sanded only the top of the table, then used minwax gel stain, followed by 3 coats of wipe-on poly wax. The rest of the table and chairs are painted with Annie Sloan chalk paint, Old Ochre, and the chair backs with Annie Sloan coco paint. I used 180 gritt sandpaper to distress my table, then clear wax followed by dark wax
