This long, triangular shawl is shaped by inserting stockinette stitch stripes into the body of the shawl. The shape of the shawl is a right triangle - start knitting at the point and keep going until you finish the chart. The i-cord edge is knit along with the body of the shawl, so there is no picking up or seaming at the end. There is only one size to this shawl - 76" long x 25" wide; however, the size can be adjusted by changing yarn or needle size. The gauge is not overly important. When…

The simplicity of the classic stockinette body, which is shaped by German short rows, allows the border pattern to take center stage. And the best part is that although the border lace pattern appears complex, it is easy to work and knits up…

This oversized, horizontal-knit shawl embodies what Persian architecture has in abundance--high arches, columns, and recesses reflected in the lace pattern. The blue is referred to as “Persian blue,” a color that is found in Persian pottery, mosques, and tiles.

Many years ago now, SueHauser tested one of my first shawl designs (Mulled Raspberry Shawl). She loved the “quilted” look to the shawl, being an avid quilter and quilt-fabric shop owner herself, and the test-knit marked the beginning of a long-term friendship between the two of us.
