1. Listen to "Be Brave Not Afraid" from the musical picture book Free to Be Me.

2. In the illustration that accompanies the song, a little girl is getting ready to dive into a pool. She’s courageous! Make a list of some other activities that require courage.

3. Create your own emoticons! Draw six circles of the same size on a piece of paper. Underneath each circle, write an emotion. Choose feelings from the song, or come up with other feelings such as happy, sad, or surprised. Then draw the faces!
