"My eyes opened early on Saturday morning. The first few lines of John Lennon’s ‘Number 9 Dream’ still swirled around my brain, their strange blend of silliness and beauty so savage it split me in two. My bedroom was flooded with a strange glow."—from MAMELUKE BATH by Andrew Asibong

John Lennon - # 9 Dream i used to listen to this vinyl, borrowing it from the Springfield Library.

The Beatles - 'You've got to hide your love away' I don't remember a world without The Beatles, and literally grew up during their career span. IMO, Lennon-McCartney together made an infinitely mightier songwriting force than either alone. I'm not a fan of Yoko-era Lennon (though his assassination hit me as hard as JFK's did my parents). And I find McCartney positively sappy and sickening without the seriousness contributed by Lennon.

The Beatles - 'You got to hide your love away' from the movie "Help" the lovely concert flute version, my favourite!

Wings ~ Band on the Run I am zapped back to Creede, Colorado c. 1976 everytime I hear this great tune.
