"The Big Dipper", Playland at the PNE, Vancouver, BC. A truly classic ride. This view is from the top of the first hill. It's a fun coaster, but you feel every bolt on the ride. My back was sore after my daughter and I went on it. Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This is one museum well worth the visit. There is a holographic presentation in a theatre there that is spectacular. The artifacts in the museum are fascinating. East Coast Canada, Nova Scotia Travel, Moving Places, Places To Go, Canada Eh, Atlantic Canada, Canadian History, Prince Edward Island, By Train

Mount Baker from Vancouver Canada downtown

You are looking at Mt Baker my friends. It's about 250-300kms from downtown Vancouver in Washington state, based on google maps. The day was almost clear but haze was quite strong. For this shot I used 100-400mm IS f5.6 Lens at full 400mm + x2 extender. So the focal length was 800mm. The combination of using extender at full focal length of the lens plus the haze reduce the sharpness and clarity of the image quite substantially. This is HDR with 7 images processed gently in Photomatix then…

Waterfront Station - 1925/2010

One more view of Waterfront Station, taken from Granville Street. This view is now obscured by the pedestrian walkway that crosses over top of Cordova Street to Granville Square. Little seems to have changed with this building over the years, although there have been some changes. But it's looking great today and is a very important Vancouver landmark, and is a great example of a very successful heritage re-use of a building that was saved from demolition.
