Each character in the play is surrounded by darkness which came upon them with the death of the king. Darkness means evil, and when surrounded by darkness no one can escape. No one who knew Hamlet or Claudius could escape the darkness that their hatred, deceit and anger brought about. Eventually it destroyed them all.
Hamlet is a tale of destruction. Though the destruction that occurs may not be the same as in this photo, it is still enough to destroy lives and take away everything good. Hamlets desperation for revenges destroys his family, friends and many others around him.
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern were Hamlet's friends, but betrayed him and went behind his back for money. They pretended to be his friends when they were around him, but when Hamlet wasn't present they were involved in a plot to end his life.
