Another wedding cake! I am always worried when I make wedding cakes! Making cakes for kids is easy, they are happy with anything! Cakes for adults are different and cakes for brides...well, that can be challenging! Luckily, I do this for fun and not for a living! I don't think I could handle the pressure!
This one was lots of fun, but a lot of work! I picked the pansies from my garden and spent a long time candying them! It was my first attempt at a basket weave, not as difficult as I thought it would be!
Maybe it's the geologist in me, but I love this cake! It was a chocolate cake with an orange chocolate custard filling and covered in coconut (coloured with cocoa to make it look like dirt) and little rock candies!
Cupcakes with iced letter shaped sugar cookies on top!
This one was more of a challenge for me, not because of the design, but because I had an icing bag explode on the cake when I was writing happy birthday! Just a minor heart attack after all that work! I think I recovered well!
I think I've made about 50 of these spiderman cakes! The webs are so simple to do, but really effective!
