Latourell Falls is a gorgeous waterfall hike near Portland. If you didn’t already know, there are tons of amazing hikes and waterfalls literally right next to Portland. If there’s an American city Jo and I (Dom) could live in it would definitely be Portland. If only it wasn’t so damn expensive to live there. Anyways, back to Latourell Falls. This beauty is located along the Columbia River Gorge and is one of multiple hikes we recommend to do on the stretch between Portland and Hood River.
If you haven’t heard about it then you have definitely seen pictures of this perfectly made bridge with this enormous waterfall in the background. That my friends is Multnomah Falls aka the most iconic waterfall hike near Portland that all your local friends will tell you to do. We’ve seen it all over Instagram and Pinterest so we knew it was one place we really wanted to hike. And besides the crowds, it totallly lived up to our expectations.
We had no idea there was any hiking in Missoula! After the first day, we learned that the M trail via Mount Sentinel is a classi hike in Missoula. So during one of our first days, we decided to give this mountain a shot and go hike up to the M. From there we continued up towards Mount Sentinel. The beauty of this hike is that essentially it’s one hike with two endpoints. Depending on how much time you have and how long you want to hike you can choose the easier or harder option.
Zion National Park is home to some of the best hikes in Utah and arguably the world. The red-rock landscape and the green trees together make up such a unique landscape you can’t find anywhere else. Once you make your way to this part of the world, Angels Landing via Scouts Lookout is definitely on the list of must-do hikes to do in Zion National Park. The view from the top of Angels Landing looking back into the valley is so iconic we had to see it for ourselves.
This stunning day hike is one of Utah’s hidden gems. Ramparts Trail hike in Utah is located less than an hour away from Cedar City. Cedar Breaks Monument is where you will find this beautiful natural amphitheater. We were lucky enough to visit Cedar Breaks Monument in the fall so tourism had really slowed down. We basically had the whole hike to ourselves and since we stayed in Brian Head it was only a short drive to the trailhead. It was the perfect hike to enjoy the National Monument.
If Arizona isn’t on your travel list yet then it sure will be after knowing about the famous Horseshoe Bend Hike. We’ve gone hiking in Phoenix, Tucson, and the iconic Grand Canyon so we felt like we couldn’t miss out on Horseshoe Bend. With national parks at an all-time high, the world knows about Arizona’s beauty for more than the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam by now, and places like Horseshoe Bend have turned into photoshoot hotspots.
If you’re crazy like us and don’t mind the Phoenix heat and want some amazing views of Phoenix then Camelback Mountain is the best hike in to do in Phoenix. Don’t worry, we went early enough before it got too hot and we recommend doing the same or else you’re asking for a sunburn. Camelback Mountain via Echo Canyon is located near Paradise Valley. It's easily accessible for anyone near Phoenix. Camelback's quite iconic because it looks like a camel’s back and you can see it from miles away!
If you’re looking for the best day hike in Crater Lake you don’t have to go far from the Crater Lake Lodge to find this beauty. Located right past the Lodge is Garfield Peak, which overlooks the mesmerizing Crater Lake and gives you views as far as the eye can see. The hike itself has quite a bit of elevation but around every corner, you will see views of Crater Lake. You keep climbing until you reach the top and then you’ll have 360 views of the whole National Park and the deep blue lake.
Ramona Falls Trail peaked our interest since it was on the way from Portland to Bend and we really wanted to do a waterfall hike near Portland before we left the area. Mt Hood alone has tons and once we saw the pictures for Ramona Falls it was a no brainer to do this one. It’s a very well kept trail and easy to find your way since a portion of the hike is on the famous Pacific Crest Trail. So once you’ve finished hiking Ramona Falls trail you can say you’ve hiked a portion of the PCT as well!
If you’re looking for a day hike with breathtaking views and a waterfall in the Mount Hood, Oregon area then make sure to save this name somewhere: Tamanawas Falls. Tamanawas Falls is out on the scenic Highway 35 in between Government Camp and Mt Hood. There are many gorgeous hikes in the Mt Hood area but if you’re looking for an easier one with a waterfall then Tamanawas is the one to do. Most of the hike itself is flat and can be done in two-three hours with lots of stops for photos + snacks
If you’re looking to add a little adventure to your life in the cooler months, consider West Virginia — the perfect destination for outdoor adventure! Imagine cozying up by a nice fire after a fun-filled day of ATVing, hiking, or skiing (and those are just a few of the winter activities West Virginia has to offer).
Here is a list of what to do in Page Arizona. From visiting Navajo Village to watching the sunset at Horsehoe Bend makes Page, Arizona a must visit. And don't forget to check out Lake Powell and Waterholes Canyon whille you're there!
There are so many fun things to do in Tucson Arizona. One of them is to go hiking in the Sabino Canyon Recreation Area. We did a hike called Seven Falls Tucson and it was really fun. This area is one of the only ones in the world with Saguaro cactus which is why it's one of many Tucson Arizona attractions. Enjoy this desert waterfall hike while you take in this stunning Arizona landscape! #arizona #tucson #deserthike
