Read the Rules Here: http://www.mathfilefoldergames.com/teaching-probability-and-risk-with-skunk/ SKUNK is a classroom classic – it involves risk, reward, and math that teaches concepts like probability and chance. On top of the intrinsic reward of winning, and the excitement of chance, SKUNK is an incredibly low-prep game that requires no more than paper and dice!

PROBABILITY AND PROBLEM SOLVING. Children describe event as likely or less likely and create the probability examples. Children reflect on the process of mathematical problem solving. I would provide a real jar and color marbles.

A great visual for Probability…not on the blog…just this picture

A great visual for Probability. And it shows the word problems for what the probability is. Students will know how to write a math sentence from this anchor chart.

Skunk math game: teacher rolls the spinner twice. Multiply both of those numbers and record the product. Spin again twice and multiply those numbers. Add this product to the previous number for the sum of the round so far. Repeat this process until 1 is spun. When 1 is chosen, the players who are still in lose all their points for that round. If two 1s are rolled in a row (1x1), then the players still in lose ALL of their points!
