Make your own snow 'paint'
Looking for a super easy, outdoor, winter activity for kids? Make your own snow paint! (Also known as water and food colouring.) Today was a beautiful, sunny day with lots of fluffy snow on the ground. Poor Leah has been cooped up for a long time, so I thought this would be a great way to get us outdoors. She was very excited to try it, and I think she was even more excited to help me mix everything together. I know, I know, snow paint sounds like it should be more complicated, that's why I…

Wow! I didn't realize just how long my week was until after dinner last night. We went and got pizza and made a Target run for a movie and a few snacks. I know it's funny, but I still haven't seen "The Hunger Games" and I have really been wanting to see it. We got home and I laid on the couch to watch television. Next thing I know it is a little after 7:00. Oh, not 7:00 p.m. That would be 7:00 a.m.! I fell asleep before 8:30 and slept until after 7:00 a.m. Then, to top it off, I've already…
There's something enchanting about snow globes, isn't there? As a little girl I could watch them for hours and even now, as a adult, I find myself mesmerized by the sparkly snow swirling behind the glass. I love having them around the house, especially in the winter (although glittery ones are fun in the summer too) and I love love the thought of making them myself. Perfect for a cozy afternoon project and just the thing to have lined up on my mantle. Here's a round up of some of my favorite…
Hello there. I am really behind in making Christmas cards, so I pulled out Celebrate the Season to make this card. I cut some curves on sticky notes to mask off a little higher and sponged again, , to create a snowbank. Re-positioned the sticky notes to create another snowbank. Re-positioned again for another…
