Canal Scene: Gilwern
Part of the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal at the village of Gilwern in Monmouthshire, Wales. The canal was built to transport coal and coke to the Clydach ironworks. The yellow pub in the background is called the Bridgend Inn.
Kennet and Avon Canal - Bath
This lovely canal on the eastern edge of Bath is not even on many of the city maps, so it is not generally visited by tourists. They are missing a beautiful waterway that is only a short walk from the town center. We watched a couple of narrowboats (working boats built in the 18th to 20th centuries for carrying goods and now converted into homes, both holiday and permanent) pass through the two locks in this section of the canal. Péniche (Barge) on the Seine - Paris [Explored]
This photo shows a lot of dirt (plastic bottles etc.) on the water. But in reality the Seine is much cleaner now that what it used to be. The Barge is between the Pont Neuf and the Pont des Arts. HDR 7 shots (-3, +3) 85mm (full frame).
