Knowing the form of the mind makes the mind disappear. ~ Ramana Maharshi

Knowing the form of the mind makes the mind disappear.

Death What happens when a Self - Realised person leaves his body? If there is no need for them to reincarnate, where do they go? There is no such thing as a Self-realised person. When there is no "person" the Self is realised. When there is no "person" the question of coming and going cannot arise. The body is an appearance in the Self. When the body disappears the Self remains as it always was and is. Realisation is the understanding "I am not this body which comes and goes, I am that…

Subhuti asked the Buddha: "The highest, most awakened mind that you have attained - is that mind the unattainable?" "Yes, Subhuti. With regard to that highest and most awakened mind, I have not attained anything. That mind is everywhere equally. It cannot be attained or grasped, but it can be realised. It is realised through the practice of all good actions when they are done in the spirit of no self and no object of self." -- The Buddha, Prajnaparamita

Sri Ramana Gita appears to be a commentary on the Sanskrit sloka "Hridaya kuhara madhye". Meaning : Brahman is glowing lustrously in the middle of the cave of the Heart in the shape of the Self, always proclaiming "I am, I am". Become an Atmanishta, a Self-realised person, either by making the mind absorbed in the search of the Self or by making the mind drown itself through control of the breath.
