Kindergarten students had a great opportunity to visit with the Cleveland Metropolitan Zoo via tele-presence. An employee from the zoo shared great bat facts, played a game with the students, and showed live sugar gliders and bats!

Grade Five took a virtual field trip to the Cincinnati  Art Museum for a session titled "Discovering the Story: The Underground Railroad". The presenter and the students analyzed a painting from the museum's collection that spoke to the events of the Underground Railroad.

Grade 5 students participated in a Virtual Field Trip via teleconference to the National WWII Museum, in New Orleans. They participated in a program called: "Don't You Know There's A War On?" Our Sixth Grade science students have been studying space exploration.Students connected with NASA's Digital Learning Network for a telepresence session called "Mission to Mars" and were able to watch a live-feed showing the view from the International Space Station.

Texas Independence Day celebration with Connect2Texas, located in Kileen, TX. The program was divided into three interactive segments: One featured how to sing songs about Texas. Another segment featured how to do Cotton Eyed Joe and how to do some simple clogging steps. Another segment included a Texas fiddler and banjo player demonstrating old time Texas music that used to be used in Texas for recreation.

Connect2Texas is a network of Texas-based educational content providers including museums, authors, and cultural, historical and scientific organizations.

Grade Four connected with the Durham Museum in Oklahoma to discuss "Building the Transcontinental Railroad". Students were able to ask questions of the presenter about the building of the railroad, and he also shared real artifacts from the actual time-period.

3rd grade have been involved in a writing project on spiders, which has been a great deal of work. They visited with Mary Amato, a children's & young adult author, about her personal challenges with the writing process. They learned helpful tips to overcome writer's block, to become inspired, and so much more!

Students in the fifth grade have been planning a project in religion class where they will be creating mosaics based on the sacraments. Students connected via video-conference with the University of Pennsylvania's Museum of Archeology and Anthropology. In the 45-minute session, students were shown many original artifacts from the museum's collection, including mosaics, and were presented a thorough history of the art form.

Our Robotics Team recently met with Dr. John McDevitt of Rice University via telepresence.  He runs the McDevitt Research Lab at Rice, and is currently the leader in saliva testing diagnostics.  Our team is working on an innovative solution that would require the use of his technology to compliment our preventative health care device, the Doc2U.
