Andrew and Pearl Melnychuk. 1953 they sold the farm and purchased a grocery store from Mike Boyko at Preeceville. In 1954 Andrew commenced work with the C.N.R. He worked for the C.N.R. until his retirement on Aug. 13, 1967. They gave up the business in 1956. Pearl was employed at the hospital, and later at the Senior's Hostel. It was hard to grow a crop, due to frost. A creek nearby provided fish for food and meat was wild game. Having a cow to provide milk and cream, they were able to make their own butter.
