For the Love of First Grade: Sorting It Out!

Construction of Knowledge Thinking & Reasoning Goal 1 Children use their senses to construct knowledge about the world around them

This can be a fun activity to use for my Unit lesson plan because food almost always focuses students' attentions. The cream on the oreo can represent what moon phase looks like what, and we can discuss the moon phases in class and relate it to weather patterns (ocean currents, etc.) I did this last fall in the classroom and the kids loved it!

This is just a fun activity to do when teaching about the moon phases. Kids absolutely love food and sweets so they would Definently remember the moon phases!
