I know there is discrepencies in whether or not self exams are useful but I will be preaching this forever. I found my lump...a year after a mammogram and only a month after a breast exam with my yearly physical. I wasn't due for another mammogram for years as I'm under 50. And my yearly physical isn't so yearly, at all. My cancer had already spread to my lymph nodes, I don't even want to think about where I'd be if I hadn't found it myself. #feelthemonthefirst #survivingaftersurviving
Instead of asking "why me, why did I get cancer", I ask myself what cancer has brought to me. What new things have I learned that can help others being diagnosed? What new friendships do I cherish?
