My house was on the right side of that runway! We had bonfires there to welcome the planes in on Saturdays! Azores Islands, Portugal - lived on the Air Force Base at Lajes Field when I was a kid.

Arriving in Lajes, Terceira, Azores Islands, Portugal - lived in Fontinas and the Air Force Base when stationed there.
