TTC 1925

By the early the downtown core was filled with street-level merchants among the skyscrapers. In this photo, workers repair the streetcar line at Bay and Wellington in May, possibly slowing the sales for the many merchants that lined Bay Street.

In 1918 female citizens of Toronto demanded jobs on street cars, while male employees of the TRC threatened to strike if women were hired.
