It's called the Mona Lisa of American art. Grant Wood won $300 for his oil painting, "American Gothic," when it was unveiled at the Art Institute Of Chicago in 1930. Since then, the painting has gone on to become one of the most recognizable examples of American art and in particular the movement known as "Regionalism".
