Whale Watching in Nova Scotia

Many people ask me....when is whale watching season in Nova Scotia? Well, the whales start to arrive in the spring and stay until late fall. The humpbacks don’t start to arrive until June and by mid-June that are very abundant. The Northern Right whale is usually only seen in late summer to the fall. The Bay of Fundy and Northern Cape Breton are the best places to see whales in Nova Scotia.

Bay of Fundy (Canada). 'The unique geography of Fundy results in the most extreme tides in the world. And they stir up serious whale-food. Fin, humpback, endangered North Atlantic right whales and blue whales swim in to feast, making a whale watch here extraordinary. Tidal bore rafting, where outfitters harness the blasting force of Fundy’s waters, is another unique activity.' http://www.lonelyplanet.com/canada/new-brunswick/eastern-fundy-shore

Most people who visit Nova Scotia go whale watching in Cape Breton. However, this is not the best whale watching Nova Scotia has to offer. Let me tell you about a better spot: the Bay of Fundy aquarium ecozone. The Bay of Fundy is ofcourse best.
