Flank Steak, Shishitos & Potatoes • Zimmy’s Nook
It began Friday with a delicious flank steak dinner! Including plans for a tasty image of the sliced, tender & juicy flank steak, surrounded by pan roasted potatoes, sautéed Shishito peppers, sweet grilled corn and fresh chimichurri. But alas, that did not occur... #HestanCulinary #HestanNanoBond
Made dinner to drop off to mom & dad, but since she was going for a drive, she stopped by to pick it up. (Truth be told, this is probably 3 dinners!) Chicken drumsticks & a rack of baby backs. Pulled from the freezer and tossed directly onto the charcoal grill (not planned, nor thoughtful!)
We stopped by my mother-in-law’s for lunch with her and two of my SILs. Grilled chicken and veggie skewers, served with a tomato, cucumber, onion and feta salad. Light, fresh and perfect for a stinking hot day! 🌡☀️ What are you grilling this weekend?

The boys (& GFs) came over to help me with a few chores, so I said I’d make dinner. “Any requests?” I asked... the answer was immediate “Steak & salad!” 🥩🥗 I grilled them each a local 10oz striploin, for Elaine & me it was a 33oz flank steak! (Ok, truth is, everyone had some flank steak!) Steaks were served with a nice fresh, slightly spicy chimichurri. 👌 Hope you’ve all had a wonderful weekend!

Today was the first day that our local asparagus farm was open for business! 🙌 If you love 💚 asparagus as much as I do, the most frustrating thing is losing a delicious spear between the grill grates! Thighs, Drummies & Smoke-Roasted Potatoes • Zimmy's Nook
Chicken thighs drummies, smoke-roasted potatoes, brown rice with peas, cilantro lime and a Greek salad. The chicken was dry rubbed, then cooked on my new Weber SmokeFire for 40 minutes at 325°F, sauced and cooked for 8 minutes more. The potatoes were parboiled, dried, tossed in olive oil, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic onions, then cooked under the chicken to soak up all that flavour! Elaine loved the chicken, but thinks the potatoes stole the show! #WeberGrillsCa #WeberSmokeFire
